Hilo High School’s Hilo Viking Robotics Club is accepting applications for its youth robotics and engineering camp, Camp Eureka, during the fall school break Oct. 10-14.
The camp is for all children interested in learning about engineering and structural design from club members who competed in robotics competitions throughout the state.
Each day of the camp begins with an engineering session from 8 a.m.-noon followed by a robot-building session from 1-5 p.m. Students will be able to learn a wide variety of skills from engineering bridges to exploring the advanced mechanisms used throughout robotics.
The age range for students is 7-12. Tuition is $175 per student; scholarship opportunities are available for those in need of financial assistance. The camps are vital in raising funds for the club to purchase equipment and supplies for outreach, future camps and competitions.
